Saturday Bird Walk

Thanks, Mike, for another great walk!  The wind calmed down and the snow showers stopped just in time for the Friends to enjoy a nice morning on the marsh.  A visit to the ODOT Pond north of Foothill Road provided good views of many of the early waterfowl migrants, including: Tundra swan, Canada goose, Pintail duck, Ring-necked duck, Common goldeneye, American widgeon, Green-wing teal, Red-headed duck.

We enjoyed watching a pair of Sandhill Cranes make their aerial approach, doing a magnificent twizzle and sticking their landing perfectly.
