The Tule Lake Access Area gates will close for the season Wednesday, August 1. From August 1 through January 31 Tule Lake and all portions of Ladd Marsh north and east of Foothill Road will be open to public access Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Federal Holidays.
The Glass Hill Unit, west of Foothill Road, is open 7 days per week April 1 through January 31.
Please note: Ladd Marsh Wildlife Area including parking lots, is closed to all entry between 10:00 PM and 4:00 AM.

Mike’s 1st Saturady Bird Walk is moving to the GROWISER property on Pumpkin Ridge north of Summerville for this Saturday only. Details follow:
Saturday, June 2nd: Meet at Ladd Marsh Headquarters on 59116 Pierce Road at 7:00am to carpool, or meet at GROWISER on Pumpkin Ridge Road at 8:00am.
Three juvenile Great Gray Owls are easily visible in their nest, as well as mom usually perched nearby. The Mountain Lady Slipper orchids are blooming, and there are many other birds and flowers to see there.
Prepare for the weather, and for walking on uneven terrain. No pets, please.
Bird Festival weekend has arrived ! ! ! Events begin this Friday, May 18, with field trips, registration, and an evening program by local Globe-trotting, bird-watching photographer Kendrick Moholt, at the La Grande Senior Center. The festivities continue on Saturday, with guided birding at hotspots throughout the marsh, and more field trips. Saturday’s forecast is for partly sunny with a high of 71F. Sounds like a perfect day to round up the kids, grandparents and friends and head for the marsh! There will be plenty of activities for the whole family.
