The new year, 2026, is just around the corner and we encourage you to make a New Year’s resolution to join us for the FOLM/LMWA bird walk on Saturday, January 3rd. We plan to meet at the LMWA Headquarters at 10 am. The plan is to caravan out to Peach Lane and take a bit of a walk around the Distribution Pond area. We saw over 20 species of birds there a week ago and hope to do well again this coming Saturday. Dress warm in layers, be ready for rain/snow should it arrive, and wear good walking boots.

Don’t forget your ODFW parking permit or your binoculars.

Directions to Ladd Marsh HQ

• From La Grande: Take the Union Highway (203) to Pierce Road (near B&K Auto Salvage). Turn right (south) on Pierce. Continue for approximately 1.25 miles to HQ on the right.
• From Union: Turn left on Pierce Road and continue for approximately 1.25 miles to HQ on the right.
• HQ can be reached from I-84: Take exit 268 (Foothill Road) then turn east. At the “T” with pierce Road, turn left (north). Continue about 1.5 miles to HQ on the left.
