March is here. The Sandhill Cranes are beginning to return to the LMWA, the Bald Eagles have been seen checking out their nest near Tule Lake, the water is beginning to rise on the ponds. It is time for the First Saturday Bird Walk on the LMWA. Join us on Saturday, March 7th for a spin around School House Pond and a drive down Peach Lane. We meet at the LMWA HQ on Pierce Road this coming Saturday. We begin meeting earlier in the spring and summer and thought we might try 8:00 am this Saturday. Maybe the sun won’t be in our eyes with starting an hour later than our normal spring meet-up time. We hope to see you at 8:00 am on the 7th. Do not forget to bring your ODFW parking permit.

Directions to Ladd Marsh HQ:

• From La Grande: Take the Union Highway (203) to Pierce Road (near B&K Auto Salvage). Turn right (south) on Pierce. Continue for approximately 1.25 miles to HQ on the right.
• From Union: Turn left on Pierce Road and continue for approximately 1.25 miles to HQ on the right.
• HQ can be reached from I-84: Take exit 268 (Foothill Road) then turn east. At the “T” with pierce Road, turn left (north). Continue about 1.5 miles to HQ on the left.
