Events
The Friends of Ladd Marsh (FOLM) sponsor several events over the course of the year. Some events are informational, and others need volunteers. Our largest event is the annual Bird Festival that takes place the second weekend of May. The Festival typically kicks off Friday night with participant registration, snacks and music, and a guest speaker. A detailed schedule will be available here and on the FOLM Facebook page.
Another event that regularly draws a crowd is the First Saturday bird walk. Held year-round on the first Saturday of each month, the bird walk takes folks to birding locations around the Grand Ronde Valley and gives novice birders a chance to learn more about birds, and veteran birders a chance to share what they know, and perhaps spot a rarity.

Nest box cleanout
Annual nest box cleanout on Feb 18th, 2023.
Ladd Marsh Bird Festival
For over 15 years, FOLM has sponsored an annual Bird Festival. Starting with an evening presentation and followed by open access to Ladd Marsh and field trips, the Festival provides a unique opportunity to experience the birds and ecology of Ladd Marsh.
First Saturday Bird Walk
FOLM leads a tour of birding spots on Ladd Marsh or around the Grande Ronde Valley. These tours are led by local birders and provide insight to the seasonal changes in local bird populations. Tours start at the ODFW Headquarters on Pierce Lane at 10:00 am!
Annual Events
Throughout the year, FOLM hosts events for people to learn or volunteer. Owl night, bird box cleaning, and a membership meeting are some of the events regularly scheduled. Stay tuned to the news postings and the FOLM Facebook page for the next event!
